The bastard is back boys and girls. That’s all you need to know!
I’ve forgotten my little weekly update for this week, and it’s a perfect week since I bought a new album and DVD, and have become obsessed with a new game.
I’ve not mentioned my obsession with my iPAQ, and it’s ironic since it is the platform with the game of the week. It’s an amazing device, if my PC kicked as much @$$ as the iPAQ does, I’d be in seventh heaven. the iPAQ is a mp3 player, a portable computer, a web device, it’s everything. It has pocket versions of Outlook, Excel, Word, and Money, as well as a scaled down version of Windows Media Player, and Internet Explorer. I use it all the time for everything from scheduling appointments, to listening to music (I’m listening to the Album Du Jour on it right now).
Album Du Jour: Break the Cycle by Staind
DVD of the week: Dogma
Movie of the week: The Score
Game of the week: Cubicle Chaos (iPAQ)
Best Comic of the Week: New X-Men 115 (Morrison and Quietly kick @$$!)
Website of the week: The official Spiderman The Movie Website The teaser trailer is out…and it looks awesome!
When society loses you, there is only one place you can go…
A new series coming from HeadsDown production this fall.
Okay, I’ve been incommunicado this weekend, but I have great news. First off, it didn’t cost anything for the repairs to Timmy, and the mechanic said that the problem might not ever come back again. The bad news is that he keeps on steaming while I’m driving. I’m not positive what it is, but it’s really troubling. I wish I had a mechanic in town that I could really trust.
We went to Nikki and Tim’s engagement party on Saturday night, and it was a real blast. Tim’s dad had a huge bottle of Rye whiskey that was from 1972, it kicked some serious ass. Oh yeah, I’m the grand Koits champion, having bested all of the other teams with the aid of my partner April. We kicked serious ice. (I managed to score four ringers in one game, no back-to-back ringers like Tiffany did, but I did nail a ringer in each of three rounds, and managed to finish the final game off with a ringer for the win). I’ve never played before, but it’s a lot like Horse Shoes which I do so love.
One final piece of good news, a little problem that’s been vexing me for a month or two with my home connection has finally been fixed, and I can post blog stuff, and use web forms with imputiny. It’s awesome.
Less than 3 months till the big day. Speaking of which, I’ve opened the Wedding Blog. The wedding site should be done by the end of the week.
Yahoo! Groups : xwars-rp That’s right! X-wars RP is a reality. The next step is to create a web page, and then start convincing people that it is a good idea. So far I have talked to Tyler and Matt and both of them see the good in this list.
First day at Globe and Mail Interactive…and I have to say that I’m impressed. First off, I have a way better computer than at TSN, and secondly, I’m back in my old Activate Hood (the Queen and Bathurst area). Lunch today was Sushi…mmmm delicious sushi.
Running car tally:
$700.00 for brake shoes and master brake cylinder.
$35.00 for the oil change.
??? for the electrical system that is causing an 8 ohm drainage.
??? to fix the “major oil leak” that Canadian Tire detected.
??? to replace said dead battery.
??? to fix the transmission leak (minor sweat from the gasket being dead).
I’m still having problems with Sympatico’s High Speed connection posting large amounts of text through CGI. I think it’s a problem with the version of RATSPPOE that I have.
God I hope all these problems will be fixed in the fall with Windows XP!
Is the sky really falling? I just found out that Eyada, my favourite online radio station, just closed their doors.
That totally sucks since Eyada has been my favourite daytime distraction for the last year or so.
There were many days at former jobs where the distraction of Eyada was the only thing that got me through the day.
Damn this dot-com death. I gotta Eyada!!!
Through no fault of my own, I have been named to the X-Wars Moderators Voting list. I didn’t ask for this honour, but I figured since folks nominated me, I’d better let them know what my platform. What follows is “Darkside’s Official Campaign Platform”
Darkside’s Official Campaign Platform
Since I’ve been nominated for the position of Moderator (I had no idea, honestly, I didn’t pursue this nomination…it just happened, I’m feeling a little like Jesse the Body Ventura here), I thought I should put forth my official campaign platform. That way the grand total of 0 people who have voted for me (and thanks go out to the none of you who have voted thusly so far…good job folks) will know exactly what it is they are getting with their votes.
Darkside’s Official Campaign Platform V.01 (to be radically changed once I am voted into office in grand American Pollitical style…what do you mean Medicare reforms? It’s reformed plenty! We need tax breaks for the rich right now!).
I hereby solemnly swear to rant my ass off, to rant with rhyme and reason, and to rant when I care. I fully expect that said rants will be ignored, and that people will just go about doing what they want to because I fully understand that there will be no repercussions for those who disobey a moderator, and that the moderation of this list will just lead to further anarchy. I am fully aware that this is a list without rules…except those rules which are set out by those duly elected representitives of certain cliques, and that said rules are subject to interpretation and whim.
I fully understand that as a “moderator” I will have no power, no say, and will essentially be a puppet fixed in place to look good so it can look like something good came out of the last six months of ranting and raving that the list is dying. I realize that much like life, this list is like an idiot, full of sound and fury, yet signifying nothing (as quoted by the Bard).
I promise to do be the best damn “moderator” that I possibly can, and will solemnly swear to do as much nothing as is humanly possible. As a matter of fact, I can guarentee right now that if I am voted in as a “moderator”, I will do the least of all moderators, and if I find any “moderator” doing less than I, I shall spur them into action, and make them moderate with such reckless abandon that the heavens will shake with their moderation!
My qualifications speak for themsleves, I have let the TSN.ca wrestling website sputter away into obscurity, I have had a hand in the demise of the Muse Awakening Newsletter, my own website “Tales from the Darkside” has not been updated since January of 1999, and GenXfans (the mailing list for the comic book Generation X, which I helped to rule with an iron fist once) is all but dead. I have been away from this list for a couple of years, but please don’t forget the half completed characters, RP’s, and mailing lists that I’ve contributed to this list over the years!
Now that my hat is officially in the ring, and my platform is out there, let the groundswell continue! I’d like to see a doubling of my current voting turnout by midnight tonight! Let’s get that bad boy doubled from 0 to 00!
Album Du Jour: The Sickness by Disturbed
