Last weekend was the big comic show, and I’m realizing now that I haven’t posted anything to this site regarding the show.

Once again the Canadian National Expo (which is held the same weekend as the Canadian National Exposition…aka the CNE), was a great show. They have a top notch guest list, and they’ve got a ton of dealers. What they need though (which they’re apparently getting next year) is more space. The convention is so packed, and since it’s now on two floors (first floor for all of the seminars, second floor with the show floor), you could literally spend all day lining up to get up or downstairs.

Luckily we bought our tickets online, because the line-up was literally down the block (and probably around 300+ people long). We still had to pick up our tickets, but the line was less than 10 people. We then did an incredibly elaborate, Ocean’s 11 type of sneak into the main line to get upstairs.

I saw a great George Perez panel with Larry and Jeff, and then Larry and I spent the rest of the show wandering around while Jeff went off to a couple of horror panels.

I picked up a bunch of stuff I wanted, but still had a bit of cash left over since I couldn’t find a few things I wanted.

I picked up: A Silent Bob figure from Clerks (which now sits on my desk at work). A Darth Vader/Obi-Wan set of Playskool figures which kick butt (Galactic Heroes figures). A Peanuts hardcover book with the first two years of Peanuts stories. A drawing book called Action Cartooning. I also got my Avengers/JLA hardcover signed by George Perez.
